Malware (malicious software) is software that is designed to gain access to your computer with malicious intent. Malicious means intending to do harm or damage. Malicious intent includes: ●Disabling hardware. This means stopping hardware working - like the trackpad or keyboard ●Data theft - this means stealing files and information ●Forced advertising - this means LOTS of pop up ads ●Sending email spam - this means receiving A LOT of junk email ●Extorting money - this means trying to get money from people
