Social engineering is any form of communication designed to get people to act in a certain way.
It relies on being able to predict how people will act. A phishing email, text or phone call might scare a busy person into thinking that their bank account had been frozen so they click a link and enter their personal details. A 'you have won a prize' or' you have a paid too much tax' relies on believing people will click 'just in case. More recently, video calls have tried to scam people into handing over money. With the explosion of AI and the expansion of 5G, cyber criminals will be able to create ever more sophisticated scams. |
Either using your school email or the form below, create your own version of a phishing email. You must try and trick your teacher but also use the techniques used by genuine phishers. Include at least 3 features that should alert your teacher to this being a phishing email. Use your real name and teacher's name but you may make up a fake email to help fool us.
Using the school email will allow you to paste images as logos but both let you paste links. |
